The month started with the simple goal of reaching 99 Firemaking. After doing some
Wintertodt, I saw some people mentioning the new Fletching Knife from Vale Totems
that made fletching 1 tick faster. I decided to get it since I was going to be
camping Firemaking for a while, and it would make fletching the logs slightly
faster. It didn't take me long to realize that points don't really matter for a
main account, and XP is the only thing I care about, so I stopped fletching and
just burned the logs directly. A goal of 500,000 XP a day meant I'd spend about 2
hours a day playing, and reach my goal in a surprisingly short amount of time.
From the 6th to the 19th of January, I went from 80 to 99 Firemaking, and earned
my 3rd skill cape. I earned quite a bit of Construction and especially Woodcutting
XP along the way, along with just over 1,000 reward cart drops.

The next skill on my mind was Runecrafting, since I was on and off doing Guardians
of the Rift in the past for the Raiments of the Eye set. A goal of 100,000 XP a
day meant I'd spend just over 2 hours a day playing. I didn't have a strict end
goal in mind, I just wanted to make steady progress on a slow skill while working
towards getting the full set and the largest available Colossal Essence Pouch
capacity of 40. After reaching level 78 Runecrafting I got the full set, but still
no lamp, so I decided to switch to doing Zeah blood runes for profitable and more
AFK XP. My 100,000 XP a day goal was still reasonable, but at 35,000 XP/hour from
blood runes, it meant about 3 hours a day instead of 2. The profit is nice too, at
about 500,000 GP/hour, so I can slowly build up my bank while training. As I'm
writing this on the last day of the month, I'm about a quarter of the way from
level 78 to 90 Runecrafting with 66,626 blood runes. The grind is pretty slow, but
steady. I was planning on switching to Zeah soul runes at 90 Runecrafting for even
better XP/hour and profit, but I might need to switch to something else for a bit
since this has already been a pretty repetitive month.
